The classic country tributes was everything needed in a country music award show. Charlie Daniels, Joe Diffie and Kenny Rogers would’ve been proud. Country music fans definitely were.
Seeing Charley Pride at CMA Awards performing and receiving the Willie Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award made almost every country fan cry…at least a little…or you don’t have a heart.
And finally seeing Eric Fucking Church win the big Entertainer of the Year was simply perfect.
Church’s speech was the speech we all needed to hear.
