I still remember watching “Pure Country” in theaters twice and back to back in one night. My mom dropped me off at the theater and told me to call her when the movie was over. I called her to tell her I was going to watch it again. She laughed and said okay.
Growing up in south Texas, George Strait, was the king and seeing his movie in theaters was a must. If I didn’t. I would’ve lost my “I’m a real Texan” ID card. What I can’t believe is that it’s been 30 years since that movie was in theaters. The sound track brought it all together and yes…I owned the cassette tape…and the CD. “Pure Country” was the only movie King George Strait ever did and the only movie he ever needed to star in.

Gather your family and friends this weekend as CMT will be showing this movie (if you miss it…they will more likely play it again).
