Blake Shelton On Flower Seeds, “The Voice” And Never Quitting Music

Blake Shelton is the cover story of this week’s “People”.  One interesting thing he talked about was how “The Voice” took a chance on him.

Blake said, “when I started on the show in 2011. That was 10 years into my career as a country artist and I never really made it to the ‘A Level’ of country artist until I became a coach on ‘The Voice’, which saying that out loud like that, it’s crazy that they even hired me to begin with.”

He also has an answer to those who think he’s gone Hollywood, and will abandon his roots. Quote, “walking away from music, you might as well just poison me or something. That’s not something I can go without. I can’t help it.”

Remember during quarantine when Blake and his wife Gwen Stefani got into gardening? They’re still at it.  They’ve grown multiple gardens’ worth of zinnias, sunflowers, and even Icelandic lilies.

Blake said, “we go way over-the-top. It’s embarrassing how much we spend on seeds. Besides music, gardening has been our biggest bonding activity.”
