Jimmie Allen issued an open apology to his wife Lex yesterday, one week after his former manager filed a lawsuit accusing him of rape.
Lex is currently pregnant with their third child. She filed for divorce weeks before the allegations were made public, but it’s now pretty obvious that’s why. Jimmie is denying the allegations of sexual assault, but admits he did cheat.
He posted the apology on his Instagram. It reads, “I want to publicly apologize to my wife Alexis for humiliating her with my affair. I’m embarrassed that my choices have brought shame on her. That’s something that she did not deserve at all. I also want to apologize to my children for being a poor example of a man and a father. I’m working on becoming a better person that my kids can be proud of. My goal is to be better than the generation before me.“
After that, it talks about how the music business is, quote, “full of temptations that can cripple you,” and how he’s ashamed he “wasn’t strong enough to withstand them.”
