Machine Gun Kelly Covered The Dixie Chicks at The Spotify House at Ol’ Red in Nashville During CMA Fest

I’m not sure what I was expecting from MGK and him trying out his country side during his performance at CMA Fest, but this definitely wasn’t it.

Now days, it seems like everyone is trying to get into country music. I get it. It really is the best genre of music. We have artist like Lana Del Rey, Beyoncé, Yung Gravy and Post Malone to name a few. Pop and mainstream artists are flocking to country music to try and get a piece of the action. It’s not really a surprise, considering the success that Morgan Wallen, Zach Bryan and Luke Combs are having as crossover artists now.

Every artist wants their music heard regardless of what genre. They are in the business of entertaining people and the more people you entertain the more money you make.

MGK has become pretty good friends with Jelly Roll, so him wanting to try out country music is no real surprise. Now it was a surprise to see him on the lineup for Spotify House at Ole Red during CMA Fest on Friday night. He was the last name I thought I’d seeing playing at a bar on Broadway in downtown Nashville.

I had no idea what to really expect from his “surprise” performance. Would it be his own music and would he be debuting some new country music he’s been secretly working on? Maybe it would be a collab performance with Jelly Roll, considering he was set to perform after what was listed as a “Surprise Performance” on the schedule?

The man actually sounded pretty good and he covered The Dixie Chicks “There’s Your Trouble”.
