King George Strait Covered Merle Haggard’s “Are the Good Times Really Over” at MetLife Stadium

When King George covers a Merle Haggard song it’s pure country music perfection.

George Strait’s 2024 stadium tour stopped in New Jersey at MetLife Stadium this past Saturday and it was another packed stadium full of George Strait junkies. Which I’m very proud to be one my myself. Buying a ticket to see George is the definition of how money can in fact buy you happiness in life.

George is known for playing some classic covers at his concerts with his Ace In The Hole Band and they cover songs with perfection. This past Saturday’s (6/08/24) show fans were treated with a cover of the late great Merle Haggard’s “Are the Good Time Really Over”.

Now I know George is about to release his new album, “Cowboys And Dreamers”, September 6th. Hear me out here. We need an album full of classic country covers with a Tom Petty cover or two on it. George and the band covers the hell of Petty songs too. Let’s be real.
