George Strait Breaks Record For the Largest Concert Attendance in the United States With 110,905 Fans at Kyle Field

He’s called “The King” for a reason and in Texas he proved why he really is the King.

Texas A&M University’s Kyle Field, in College Station, Texas hosted one hell of a show. King George Strait held court in Bryan, Texas and to say he had quite the crowd would be the understatement of the century. It broke a massive record y’all. It actually broke the largest audience in attendance for any ticketed concert in the history of the United States.

The record has been held down pretty nicely by The Grateful Dead since 1977…who had 107,019 fans in attendance at their show at Old Bridge Township Raceway Park in Old Bridge, New Jersey. The man, George Strait, had 110,905 fans in attendance for a Texas size musical extravaganza called “George Strait: The King at Kyle Field, featuring support from fellow Texas natives Parker McCollum and Catie Offerman who opened the show.

George stepped up to the mic and thanked the crowd for coming out in the Texas heat to be a part of it all…

“It’s so good to be here with Catie Offerman and Parker McCollum – let’s have another big round of applause for those two. And happy birthday Parker, my gosh, what a day, what a place to spend your birthday, right?

Man, I wanna whoop so bad, but you can’t whoop if you’re not/you don’t go to school here? Can I whoop, one time, just once? ‘Whoop!’”

The Aggie crowd obviously exploded at that point. George went on to say…

“I had to do it – my son said it’s okay if I did that, he graduated from A&M. We got a lot of songs to play for y’all today/tonight. What a beautiful night, too, right?

We got some new stuff that we’re gonna do also, we got a new album…out in September called Cowboys And Dreamers, so we got some stuff from that we’re gonna play from that for you also and we got a really special thing we’re gonna do for you, so alright, what are we here for?”

We should also mention another record that was broken in Texas thanks to “The King”. The crowd in attendance at Kyle Field broke the attendance record in general that was set there at the 2014 game against Ole Miss.

George even took some time to allow Retired Lt. General Leroy Sisco to present his 118thhome to hero honor to Sgt. Tiffany Baker. It’s what George does at pretty much every show and God bless him for that.

Well done on this concert achievement, King George. Well done.
