Country music has always been about storytelling and it paints the picture of life.
Three chords and the truth are told in country music. Cody Johnson’s song “Dirt Cheap” is the exact definition of what a country song is. The line in the chorus where he says, “I got a little girl that used to swing right there…I still see her pink bow in her brown hair”, gets me every time I hear it. Especially as girl dad now.
Country music is about all of our lives and a great song that tells a great story needs a damn good video to go with. The official video for “Dirt Cheap” is that and it’s out now.
