Keith Urban is embracing his inner yacht rocker. He announced that he has a covers album on the way at Country Radio Seminar.
While he performed at the Ryman Auditorium for Team MCA’s CRS Ryman Lunch he said, “there is one original on the record. It’s a thematic record…yacht rock songs. You think I’m kidding? I’m not kidding.”
And if that idea sounds a bit odd, Keith gave fans a taste of what to expect. He played a cover of Stephen Bishop’s “On and On”. There isn’t a release date for the covers album yet…but it’s coming.
Keith was also honored by St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital with the Randy Owen “Angels Among Us” Award. He’s been a supporter for more than 20 years, and began visiting the hospital in 1998.
