Here’s an easy way to get moved to the top of the list of being the most hated neighbor in the neighborhood. Just deprive kids of ice cream in the middle of hot ass July.
This neighborhood in New Jersey recently lost its ice cream truck…after someone complained about the music.
A Mister Softee truck was driving around playing its jingle like always, and somebody found it annoying. It happened in Blackwood, New Jersey, near Philly.
Someone else who lives in the neighborhood got on Facebook. They said, quote, “Mr. Softee has disappeared and been told not to come back around to our area, because one neighbor called to complain about the music.”
It’s not clear who actually complained, but the local news heard about it and got in touch with Mister Softee headquarters.
They say they occasionally get complaints like this. If a driver’s been blasting the jingle at 10:00 P.M. or something, they’ll make sure it stops. This was in the middle of the day…and if they didn’t play it at all, they wouldn’t have customers.
Kids in the neighborhood can breathe a sigh of relief though. Other neighbors got in touch with Mister Softee to complain about the complainer. So now the truck will return.
