Unless you’re over the age of 80, you’re probably not guessing the #1 song on this list. Because…it’s a real classic.
The site Stacker.com did some research and came up with a list of the 25 most covered country songs of all time. So, the songs that have been re-recorded by other artists the most.
And #1 covered song is “Tennessee Waltz“ by Lloyd Copas, recorded in 1947. He went by the stage name “Cowboy Copas”. He died in the same 1963 plane crash that killed Patsy Cline.
“Tennessee Waltz” has been covered by at least 458 other artists in the past 76 years, including Otis Redding, Ella Fitzgerald, Patsy Cline, and Elvis.

2. “You Are My Sunshine“, originally recorded by The Pine Ridge Boys in 1939. It’s been covered at least 439 times.
3. One you’ll probably hear a few times over the next month: “Frosty the Snow Man“, recorded by Gene Autry in 1950…covered 436 times.
4. “Help Me Make It Through the Night“ by Kris Kristofferson. It came out in 1970. It’s been covered by at least 403 other artists.
5. “Crazy“ by Patsy Cline, covered 372 times since its debut in 1961. It was written by Willie Nelson, but his version still counts as a “cover.” Her song “I Fall to Pieces” also made the list at #19.
The Top 25 also includes “Take Me Home, Country Roads” by John Denver…“I Will Always Love You” and “Jolene”, both by Dolly Parton…“I Walk the Line” by Johnny Cash…“Stand by Your Man” by Tammy Wynette.
There’s also six different songs by Hank Williams. Which includes “I’m So Lonesome I Could Cry”…“Your Cheatin’ Heart”…“Cold, Cold Heart”…“Hey, Good Lookin”…“I Can’t Help It (If I’m Still in Love with You)” and “I Saw the Light”.
