Chris Stapleton Joined George Strait Onstage for a Cover of “Pancho and Lefty”

Townes Van Zandt’s “Pancho and Lefty” is musical masterpiece that Willie Nelson and the great Merle Haggard made famous.

Chris Stapleton joined George Strait onstage Saturday in Chicago. They performed their song “Honky Tonk Hall of Fame”, along with a cover of Townes Van Zandt’s “Pancho and Lefty”.

Hear me out. Before King George Strait drops his new album “Cowboys And Dreamers” on September 6th. They could record this song and add to that album for our listening pleasure. A new generation of fans need this song. George and Chris can keep it alive.
