Parker McCollum Teased A Return to “The Limestone Kid” Era With His New Album: “Welcome Back Kid”

We welcome this with open arms.

Parker McCollum is back in the studio working on his 5th album, the follow-up record for, ‘Never Enough’, getting it ready for release. Greatness takes time. So, we can’t rush this. Parker is also hinting at a return to ‘The Limestone Kid’ era of music with this new project of his.

In a social media post, the Texas native shared a series of studio pictures, accompanied with the caption of, “Welcome back Kid”. This is a not-so-subtle reference to his debut album, ‘The Limestone Kid’. Fans regularly point to that album as the basis for Parker’s ability to show off his wordsmith skills and music that’s raw…and real. As in me. I’m one of those fans.

That album arrived in 2015 as an independent release, with the fan-favourite “Meet You in the Middle”, and that entire album still sounds damn good with cold beer on any given night. Parker continued that sound with his 2017 album, ‘Probably Wrong’. In both of those projects, Parker showcased his now-signature laidback sound and his ability to remind people of growing up with the possibility of leaving your hometown and pursuing your dreams. These two albums were some of his best work to say the least.

Parker, thank you for getting back to you and your Limestone Kid era again. Its’s much appreciated.
