Cody Johnson Says “Stop Watching the News” and “Go To Church”

On a day when most of us will be watching the news, Cody Johnson has the opposite advice.

He was at a recent show, and he asked the crowd, “how many of y’all watch the news?” Before they had a chance to answer, he emphatically said, “Stop watching the news!”

He said, “last time we had a presidential election in this country, they tried to divide us on race…on religion…on gender…and they even tried to divide us on vaccines and masks.

“The point of unity is being together no matter what you believe. I look out over this crowd tonight…I look at all these different people.”

Here’s where Cody brought it home. He said, “It’s okay to disagree. Because before most of us were born, an American soldier died for our right to disagree in this country. But guess what, there’s three things we can agree on. And they are RED, WHITE, and BLUE.”
