So, Beyoncé Won Top Country Female Artist At 2024 Billboard Music Awards

I’m not exactly sure who was in charge of picking the winners at 2024 Billboard Music Awards, the top female country artist of the year should’ve been any woman, but Beyoncé.

So, Beyoncé has won her first country award at the Billboard Music Awards, taking home the title of being the top female country artist, a victory which comes just months after her album Cowboy Carter was snubbed by the Country Music Awards. It was her 17th award in a category that would have seemed quite unlikely a year ago (and still should’ve been unlikely), beating out Lainey Wilson and Megan Moroney, which is upsetting in every way. Lainey deserved that award due to the fact she actually represents country music and worked her ass to get to where she’s at in the country music world.

Zach Bryan took home five awards during the night, including two wins in country and two in rock, reflecting his genre-bridging appeal. His fifth award was for Top Streaming Song.

Morgan Wallen cleaned up nicely by taking home four awards, bringing his career total to 19, just one shy of Garth Brooks’ record as the country artist with the most wins. Morgan won Top Country Artist for the third time, which allows him to tie Garth and Taylor Swift for the most wins in this category. This was also Morgan’s third win in four years in this key category.

Shaboozey won a total of three awards with one being the Top Country Song for “A Bar Song (Tipsy)”. We also can’t forget to mention that  Post Malone landed his 11th BBMA win for Top Collaboration for “I Had Some Help,” which he recorded with Morgan.

Over all it was a pretty good night for country music, despite Beyoncé robbing Lainey Wilson and Megan Moroney of the top female country artist award. That was another example of how country music is being murdered by an industry who cleary doesn’t respect the genre and it shows.
