If you don’t who Kevin Fowler is…please stop calling yourself a country music.
The man has a long list of country twangers, including “100% Texan”, “Hard Man To Love”, “Beer, Bait adn Ammo” and “Ain’t Drinking Anymore” to name a few. Kevin is a Texas music icon in my humble opinion.
Cody Johnson showed up to the Grand Ole Opry to give this man the introduction he deserved. Cody pointed how if it wasn’t for Kevin he probably wouldn’t have pursued country music. He saw Kevin play about 17 years ago in Huntsville, Texas and after seeing him it set his dream on fire.
“I want to be like this guy on stage, I want to sing to people like this, it changed my life. It made me want to pursue music…and whenever I met the man…he started opening doors for me. I couldn’t sell out 25 people in a little room.”
So, basically if it wasn’t for Kevin Fowler, we might have Cody Johnson. Thank you Kevin for opening those doors for Cody, because country music needs him…and more like him. Now please excuse me while I listen to some Kevin Fowler music for the next several hours.
