If you don’t remember, last year at Major League Baseball’s Home Run Derby, Ingrid Andress sang the national anthem. And, it was a trainwreck to say the least.
Afterwards, she apologized and said she was drunk and checking herself into a facility to get the help that she needed. Since we haven’t heard from her in a while, it was fair to assume that was the end of that story.
Ingrid had different plans though. In her first public appearance in seven months since the botched anthem attempt, Ingrid got in front of the entire crowd at the Colorado Avalanche hockey game and decided to sing the National Anthem again.
But was it any better the second time around? She even cackled at one point.
Here are some of the comments on her latest anthem attempt:
1. “Genuinely curious why she would do this to herself.”
2. “Why” did she laugh like Blippi?”
3. “Not sure the anthem is her thing.”
4. “Is this her version of kneeling?”
To be fair, it wasn’t all bad. Fellow country singer Caylee Hammack said, “this is beautiful and you rocked it.” I mean supporting friends are important. I think.
You gotta give Ingrid credit for bravery. Especially considering today is National Anthem Day. Why compete with Chris Stapleton and Whitney Houston when you don’t have to? Lord knows I don’t. Mainly because I’m also not a professional singer and if I was…I’d still say no trying that song out in public.
