Let’s be honest. Most of the pop stars “going country” are not looking to completely go all in…they just want a little piece of the action. Chappell Roan is one of them.
Chappell’s new material, including the new song “The Giver”, is country…loosely…but she admits, she’s not trying to “invade country music,” or win over the country crowd, she’s just creating songs that “feel happy and fun.”
That said, she did grow up on country and Christian music, and she totally embraces the nostalgia that still sticks with her. She says she loves rolling through West Hollywood, blaring Jason Aldean and Alan Jackson.
Of course the released interview clip posted on X has acquired quite a bit of attention from her fans, and thanks to the ideological differences embedded between her and Jason. Some of her fan are pissed. Regarding this separation, it looks like her fans believe her to be subverting the beliefs she upholds from what I’m reading in the comment section on socials.
Given her shoutout to Jason, one user said, “of course this silly b—” said Jason Aldean. Two other users wrote, “In her Republican era” and “I’m sorry but shouting out Jason Aldean in 2025 is insane. lol.” People and their opinions will always be a thing in this world.
