Riley Green is one of the hottest acts in all of country music. I mean women love him. Let’s be real.
Did you know that before Riley got famous, he worked in construction? And every week, he would play at a Mexican restaurant in Jacksonville, Alabama for “about $150 [a] night.”
Riley said he would perform in front of 50 to 60 people at the Mexican restaurant, and he did that every week for eight years.
He said his big break came when someone from a much bigger venue asked him to do a show there. It was called Iron City, in Birmingham. His first thought was, “that place holds 1,300 people. It’ll be empty.”
But to his surprise, he almost filled the place up, and the rest is history.
