Last year in 2024 on Father’s Day we got some new country music news that was definitely needed from Shooter Jennings about his dad’s music.
Waylon Jennings helped shaped outlaw country music and made it sound bad ass. There’s no arguing that.
When he passed away February 13, 2002 it hurt. He left the world some damn good music to listen to forever though. Thank God his son, Shooter, found some unreleased music his dad recorded that’s now being released in 2025, because we need new Waylon music more than ever.
This year in 2025 for Father Day Shooter is giving us an actual date for new Waylon music and the first song from his album, ‘Songbird’, which is coming October 3rd. Amen.
In fact this just one of three albums coming from Waylon and all thanks to Shooter.
I mean my country heart is full with news y’all and I can’t wait for October. Even with all of the dumb shit in news daily, 2025 is pretty damn good. Cheers to new Waylon Jennings music.
