It was a matter of time before this news came and the King of Texas is putting in some effort to help out his neighbors in Texas.
The hill country area is almost like the heart of Texas and it’s literally in King George Strait’s backyard. So, calling it “Strait To The Heart” is absolutely fitting. Donations will be collected and distributed by 501c3 Vaqueros del Mar Texas Flood Relief Fund directly benefiting those affected by the flood…and George is bringing in a few good friends to help raise as much as they can for his hill country neighbors that really need the support right now.
This show is going to be an intimate benefit dinner and concert in Boerne, Texas, which is set to take place Sunday, July 27th at Estancia at Thunder Valley indoor arena. George is bringing Dean Dillon, Ray Benson, William Beckmann, Wade Bowen, Riley Green, Randy Houser, Jamey Johnson, Kyle Park, Hudson Westbrook and members of George’s Ace in the Hole Band.
Entire communities have been completely devastated, families are obviously hurting from the loss of their kids and loved ones that they unfortunately lost. The death toll is continues to climb as it’s currently sitting at 120, and 173 people remain missing as of now. Hopefully this show and the other fundraising efforts help these families out in a big way. I also pray that they find some kind of peace of mind in losing their loved ones.
In a post of George’s socials he said, “the destruction and loss in our community from the recent floods is hard to wrap your head around. Our hearts and prayers are with you all.”
