Lainey Wilson Paused Her Show to Hug Her “Day One” Fan

This woman has not forgotten were she came from.

Before Lainey Wilson made her big break, she used to park her 20-foot Flagstaff camper outside a Nashville studio, and now she’s selling out arenas. Now no matter how big she keeps getting she’s still remembers the people who cheered her on when nobody else was watching. Which is why it’s not to love her.

During a tour stop in Los Angeles, Lainey stopped mid-set when she spotted a familiar face in the crowd. It was a longtime fan who has been with her since her earliest gigs.

Lainey told the audience, “y’all, we go back.” And she said to her girl in the crowd, “you were literally there when nobody was there.”

Lainey then told a story about playing a casino show years ago where that fan was the only one pressed against the barricade. Literally.

Before Lainey continued her set, she went over and gave the fan a big hug. Not many artists would’ve taken the time to stop their show just to say hi to an old friend…and a fan. Lainey actually did though.
