So, NFL announced their bs 2026 Super Bowl Halftime Show.
This is completely disappointing to country fans like me. Their entertainment of choice is man that goes by name of Big…I mean Bad Bunny. He’s apparently a big deal the pop music world and a Puerto Rican icon.
Now I’ve heard of him before due to the fact that he’s been in the news a lot lately. He’s been very adamant about not playing any shows in states where ICE might have reach in possibly arrest his fans. I’m assuming only criminal illegals are buying his concert tickets. Of course I could be wrong.
Mr. Bunny has obviously agreed and accepted a show offer in the states now since the biggest stage in the world offered him a time slot. I’ll of course be using his time during the big game’s halftime performance to take a shit and I do thank the NFL for giving me some time doing that. After all…I don’t want to miss any of actual game.
I’m disappointed in the fact that the NFL continues to ignore country music completely though. I mean country artists have been dominating the charts, and they’re doing incredibly well in mainstream music arena as well. The genre is probably more relevant than it has ever been…even including its most talked about decade like the ’90s, which was another era of country music that dominated the mainstream culture too. I know this, because I lived through it.
Now thanks to artists like Morgan Wallen, Post Malone, Luke Combs and Zach Bryan, country has become one of the most popular genres in all of music. Hell, Morgan’s last three albums have taken over the albums charts and streaming world all together. The numbers speak for themselves.
Here we are though. It’s been quite a long damn time since we’ve seen a country act perform at the Super Bowl. Shania Twain was the last country artist to headline the show in 2003…so it’s been over 20 long years.
