It sounds like internet nonsense, but this one is 100% legit y’all.
Back in the 1980s, Kenny Rogers hosted the Kenny Rogers Classic Weekend at his Beaver Dam Farm in Athens, Georgia. It was a charity event with athletes, musicians, and actors competing in everything from golf to fishing to basketball.
The best moment came in 1988, when Michael Jordan, Larry Bird, Isiah Thomas, and Dominique Wilkins all showed up. The games were televised, competitive, and surprisingly intense.
During one basketball game, Kenny pulled off a perfect pump fake and Michael Jordan fell for it too. Then Kenny stepped back and calmly nailed a mid-range jump shot. I knew Kenny was bad ass…but damn. This video is kind of impressive to me.
The announcer even said, “Kenny just put Michael Jordan in the popcorn machine.” The 1980s were special y’all.
