Here’s some interesting country music news to think about.
This year marks the first time that Taylor Swift will be eligible to join the Country Music Hall of Fame, since her debut album came out 20 years ago. If she were to get in, she’d make history as the first artist to get in during the first year of eligibility.
The 2026 inductees will be announced this spring.
Of course, there are many artists who are overdue for induction, like Brad Paisley, Tim McGraw, and Faith Hill.
Then there’s the “Honky Tonk Man” himself, Dwight Yoakam is still not in the Country Music Hall of Fame of yet neither, which is a damn crime at this point. He was actually inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2019…so let’s get him inducted into the Country Muisc Hall of Fame before Taylor gets in there, please. It’s the respectful thing to do.
