Lukas Nelson is working with Ernest on some original music for an upcoming country music comedy. The movie is currently untitled, but it’s from director Judd Apatow and will star Glen Powell as an artist whose career is in free fall.
Speaking of Earnest, the first song off his new album is out now as well and it’s called “Lorelai”. And you can also look for Lukas this weekend as one of the performers at the Grammy Awards.
I think it’s pretty bad ass to see country music at the center of what could be a blockbuster movie if Glenn Powell is attached to it. As of right now, the movie is set for a February 5, 2027 release date. In the meantime…here’s a song Lukas and Ernest teamed up for called “Why Dallas,” which was on Ernest’s 2024 “Nashville, Tennessee” album.
