This is what going to Church is all about.
Eric Church and Ella Langley have been out on the road together for a few weeks as of now, as Ella has been opening up for the “Chief” on his “Free The Machine Tour”. Despite this and the fact that Ella has been the hottest artist in the genre lately, the two had yet to team up for a performance on the tour.
That of course all changed in Buffalo, New York over the weekend.
After Ella did her part to fire up the New York crowd, Eric opened up the show, per usual, with the entirety of “Evangeline vs. The Machine” before diving into some of his past hits that he’s known for and his album cuts that fans seem to love more than his radio hits.
It’s become pretty standard for Eric to perform some iconic covers from various artists depending on what city/state he’s performing in on any given night. He played “Sweet Home Chicago” in the Windy City, “What Made Milwaukee Famous” was covered in Wisconsin and John Anderson’s “Seminole Wind” when he stopped in Florida. Since he was in New York, Ella and him decided to deliver a hell of a duet of Billy Joel’s “New York State of Mind.”
