People are literally out there booing Carrie Underwood? Mainly because they’re miserable human beings.
Carrie accidentally made some enemies over the past couple of years by just being herself. If you’re asking why that is? It all really started when she performed “America the Beautiful” at Donald Trump’s inauguration back in January of 2025. Even though Carrie put out a statement saying her performance and presence wasn’t a political statement, a lot of people on the left didn’t believe her at all and turned their backs on her. Some people called her every name in the book, because some people just can’t seem to understand how some people live differently than them.
In her defense though, Carrie is not a person who’s ever been outspoken about her political beliefs. I mean you could reference the firestorm that she set off when she liked a tweet from conservative commentator Matt Walsh that opposed mask requirements for school children. Hell…most people with common sense believed that. Especially if you were a parent. The knee jerk reaction to what the powers that be did in shutting things down to the stop the spread of a virus…seriously messed people up mentally and financially more than saving anyone’s life in my opinion.
Carrie singing “America the Beautiful” at Trump’s inauguration was probably the most political thing that she’s has ever done in her entire career. Even after she clarified that she did it because she loves the country, and called for everyone to come together in the spirit of unity. It clearly didn’t bring everyone together.
Based on how she was welcomed in California, one of the bluest states known to man, during American Idol‘s “Hollywood Week” recently, I’d say that not everyone has come together like she hoped they would.
She posted a teaser on X about her welcome in California…
“Spoiler alert… I get booed A LOT from our Hollywood Week audience.”
John Rich was quick to remind her of something good…as he said…
“Good! The last thing you want is Hollywood thinking well of you.”
