Billy Bob Thornton Has Written About 18 To 20 Country Songs

Billy Bob Thornton has been writing country songs, ever since he wrote Flatland Cavalry’s “Midland After Midnight” for the “Landman” soundtrack.

He says he’s written about 18 to 20 songs, and they’re more reminiscent of something from Waylon Jennings or Johnny Cash. Billy said, “I don’t write what they write these days.  Modern country music doesn’t thrill me.

I call it ‘Def Leppard with a steel guitar.’ It just sounds like pop music.”

We need more song writers like Billy in country music. Especially if they’re writing songs that sound like Waylon and Johnny’s music.
