Darius Rucker’s “Wagon Wheel” Cover Joined Spotify’s Billions Club

This makes my country heart happy.

If you’re an artist putting out music…you want your music on Spotify. Even though there’s some real competition from Apple Music, there’s no doubt that Spotify is the top streaming platform since its official launch in the United States back in July of 2011.

Spotify has over 696 million monthly active users, 276 million of whom pay for premium, the platform has become nothing short of a staple in terms of music consumption in today’s world. Boasting over 100 million songs available to be streamed right now (excluding Garth Brooks’ entire discography, of course), Spotify has nearly every notable song ever released over the past century.

Darius Rucker’s has gotten one of his songs into a prestigious club on the streaming platform now. His cover of “Wagon Wheel” has surpassed one billion streams on Spotify. It’s now the 15th country song to join the Billions Club. In case you’re wondering, there are over 1,200 songs that have hit this milestone.

Out of those 1,200+ songs, until today, only 15 of those fall under the country category as of now. So, to be a part of small group of country artists that have joined Billions Club is not a bad place to be. Let’s get some more country songs in that club too.
