Martina McBride is the latest artist to drop out of the Great American State Fair at the National Mall for America’s 250th birthday. She said, “I was presented with an opportunity to perform at a nonpartisan event…
But that turned out to be misleading…I’ve spent my entire career singing songs about real people with real issues. It greatly upsets me that any fan may now feel like I’m abandoning the meaning behind those songs.”
It greatly upsets me that Martina believes that celebrating our country’s 250 birthday is one sided. She lost some of my respect for wanting to do this for our country. Celebrating our country shouldn’t have anything to do with being Democrat or Republican. Mainly because both parties are trash. And if people on one side of the political aisle intimidated her into making her decision to drop out of this performance…they’re pieces of shit to me.
