This concert was one of the hottest tickets of the year for country music, and Nashville needed it.
I still remember when Alan Jackson’s first song, “Blue Blooded Woman”, was released in 1989 when I was a kid…and now I watched this man retire. Alan took the stage for the final show of his career, the “Last Call: One More For the Road – The Finale”, at Nissan Stadium in Nashville. June 27, 2026 will go down in country music history in my book too.
Alan announced that he was suffering from Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease back in 2021, which is degenerative nerve condition that made it hard for the country music legend to stand and keep his balance.
He did in fact assure fans the disease isn’t fatal, but it made it harder for to tour and deliver the performance that he wants for fans. So, Alan decided to retire from performing.
“It’s starting to affect my performance on stage a little bit, where I don’t feel comfortable and I just wanted the fans and the public to know, if they’ve come to see me in the last few years or if they come to see me in the future if I play anymore, what’s going on.”
The performance lineup for Alan was packed with country music royalty to say the least. The all-star lineup included Eric Church, Luke Bryan, Luke Combs, Riley Green, Cody Johnson, Miranda Lambert, Little Big Town, Jake Owen, Jon Pardi, Thomas Rhett, Carrie Underwood, Lainey Wilson, Lee Ann Womack and King George Strait.
There was some severe weather that showed up and caused a little delay, but luckily it didn’t stop this legendary concert.
Their 25 songs on Alan’s set list and the very last song he performed on stage was “Where I Come From”, which was very fitting. And best moment for me was when George Strait joined Alan Jackson to sing “Murder On Music Row” at Nissan Stadium. Hopefully Nashville was listening to this song…because this song is dedicated to label executives that have literally killed country music.
