According to reports…Taylor and Travis’ wedding date is July 3rd. So, this theory seems pretty damn accurate.
There’s this solid theory currently swirling around on the internet that Kenny Chesney canceled two of his Las Vegas Sphere dates because he was invited to one of the biggest weddings of all time. A.K.A. the Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding that’s happening on the exact dates he canceled.
Kenny’s time in the $2.3 billion venue last year can only be described as a huge success. The man performed 15 sold-out shows during his first residency. So, “No Shoes Nation” really showed ou in a big way.
When Kenny first announced his 2026 residency it only featured late June dates (as his first show back was June 19). However, there was so much demand for those shows that he added more dates in early July…including shows on July 3rd and July 4th. I mean who wouldn’t want to spend the 4th of July hanging out with Kenny Chesney?
However, Chesney decided to change his mind back in April, and according to the Las Vegas Review Journal, he sent out this message to fans who had already bought tickets for those two dates saying…
“Funny thing about holidays, family, and traditions: you don’t realize how important they are until you remember all the things people in your life want to do to celebrate them; the reason people come together, go home and remember, catch up with old friends. Over the last few weeks, I’ve heard about a lot of traditions that wouldn’t be happening – because I was going to play Las Vegas over the 4th of July Weekend.
I won’t say I didn’t realize, but I will say: hearing from people I know and care about, I heard them loud and clear. So I’ve made the difficult decision to cancel my shows on July 3 & 4 at Sphere. Not that I don’t want to see you at Sphere, to share this incredible, full-immersion music-visual experience with you. I do.”
It was nice of KC to want all of his crew and team members to celebrate July 4th with their friends and family. Simple as that, right? Shit no.
When he canceled his Las Vegas Sphere shows on July 3 and 4, and cited that it was because he wanted others to be able to celebrate the holiday, many people starting asking, “why wouldn’t he have thought about that prior to locking in those dates?”
Well as it turns out…and this is entirely hypothetical…he may have canceled those two shows for a completely different reason, and used America’s birthday celebration as a scapegoat. Kenny and Taylor are friends…and he obviously didn’t know her actual wedding date until he received the invite.
At least he didn’t cancel the day of like other artists have done. And I’m not naming any names here…Morgan, Eric and Bailey.
