Ella Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas” continues its dominant run with a 14th week at the top of Billboard’s Hot 100 chart. Now aside from holiday songs, it ties Dolly Parton’s penned hit song “I Will Always Love You” by Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey’s “We Belong Together” for the most weeks at #1 by women with no male-billed acts in the chart’s history.
The holiday (and only) song with more weeks is Mariah Carey’s “All I Want For Christmas Is You”. And that song spent 22 weeks at the top of Billboard’s Hot 100 chart.
Rather you like the song or not, “Choosin’ Texas”, is making music history. And it’s country music should be proud.
