Dolly Parton will receive the Poet’s Award next month at the Academy of Country Music Honors. She won’t be able to attend in person though, so she’s accepting the award with a special video message.
The ceremony is set for August 19th at The Pinnacle in Nashville with hosts Carly Pearce and Parker McCollum. Details on how to watch it from home haven’t been announced as of yet though.
In sadder Dolly news, her older brother Coy “Denver” Parton passed away at 82. He’s one of her 11 siblings. She has five sisters and one brother who are still alive.
