Jelly Roll Is Doubling Down His Remarks On President Trump: “For Those Who Threatened To Stop Listing To My Music Based On My Comments…Go Right Ahead”

Jelly Roll returned as the guest host of Jimmy Kimmel Live! this week, filling in while Jimmy Kimmel takes a summer hiatus.

It’s a bold move considering how Jimmy Kimmel is the biggest douchebag on national television. During his monologues, Jelly Roll unexpectedly leaned into political comedy, delivering highly-publicized jabs at President Donald Trump.

He joked about Trump’s physical fitness, the weekend IndyCar race in Washington, D.C., and compared his own recent 300-pound weight loss to losing “an entire Donald Trump”. That of course didn’t set well with Trump supporters, which I remember seeing Jelly in a video at laughing and joking around Trump like he really supported him.

Now after facing intense backlash from MAGA fans online, the country artist doubled down on his remarks during Tuesday’s broadcast, questioning why any U.S. president shouldn’t be able to handle a few lighthearted jokes.

He acknowledged that “some folks online were upset” that he didn’t “treat the president with reverence and dignity” during his opening monologue on Monday. To which he responded, “I want to remind y’all that I go by the name Jelly Roll. I don’t even treat myself with reverence and dignity.”

He also said as a President “they should also be able to handle gas prices, health care, and the occasional international conflict, but beggars can’t be choosers.” But God forbid you made jokes about Joe Biden and his illiterate ass, because that was labeled as hate speech.

Jelly continued saying, “for those who threatened to stop listening to my music based on my comments last night, I just want to say with conviction: Go right ahead, because I’m gonna keep speaking my truth or my name isn’t Post Malone.”

Jelly should be able to my jokes directed at him as well now. Because I’m guessing if you’re filling in for the biggest douchebag on national television, who you claim to be friends with…you’re probably a douchebag too.
