Cody Canada Confirmed That There’s A Brand New Cross Canadian Ragweed Record In The Works Y’all

The Red Dirt movement can’t be discussed with including Cross Canadian Ragweed. They have remained one of the most important country bands over the past three decades.

CCR originally formed in Stillwater, Oklahoma in the mid-1990s. And the group’s impact truly cannot be understated, as they’ve influenced some of the biggest artist in the Texas and Oklahoma scene. Guys like the Turnpike Troubadours, Koe Wetzel, Wyatt Flores and Parker McCollum to name a few.

Throughout their career, the boys from Oklahoma released seven studio albums and three live albums, but they disbanded in 2010. As a fan, I felt like I was in the middle of a divorce, and from a conversation with frontman Cody Canada at the time, it seemed there was no way in hell they would ever get back together. He basically compared their breakup to a divorce.

Then in 2025, prayers were answered when they announced their “The Boys From Oklahoma” concert series at their beautiful reunion at Mile 0 Fest in Key West, Florida.

Given how successful their long-awaited return has been, the next step in the reunion would be a brand new album. And I’ll be damn, it looks like it’s finally happening.

Cody got on Instagram to provide a lengthy, nearly 20-minute update about the state of the band, new music, shows and his life in general. If you sit through that, you’ll find that he revealed how CCR is “nearly half way” done with a brand new project y’all.
