In 2011, we all fell in love with the red solo cup thanks to this man.
Back in 2023 Big Dog Toby Keith revealed that the Solo Cup Company once reached out to him with some playful “beef” or a complaint after his 2011 hit song “Red Solo Cup” skyrocketed in popularity. As in they weren’t happy with the success of that song and the problem it was causing within their company.
According to the late great Toby, the company contacted him to share that the massive success of the song caused an imbalance. It literally caused people to buy the red cups in droves while ignoring all the other colors the company produced.
Rather than apologizing or taking it too seriously, Big Toby gave a blunt, characteristic reply by saying, “well, quit making the other colors then.”
To be honest. They actually should’ve thanked him and The Warren Brothers for helping their company sell a massive amount of red solo cups.
