Jason Aldean is still fiercely defending his “Try That in a Small Town” song and video. Especially the video. He believes those who have a problem with it, “haven’t looked hard enough” at it.
The video features vandalism and rioting by people of all colors and races. He’s calling out lawlessness, regardless of who’s doing the crime.
There is one thing he would change, though. He wouldn’t have used the Maury County courthouse in Columbia, Tennessee as a filming location. To be real. Disney and Hallmark shouldn’t used it neither if we holding anyone this standard. Jason didn’t know it was where an 18-year-old Black man was lynched by a mob in 1927.
Jason said, “I don’t go back a hundred years and check on the history of a place. It’s also the place I get my car tags every year. It’s my county that I live in. He added, “but knowing what I know now, I probably wouldn’t have filmed there.”
Here’s the link for the interview he did with “CBS Mornings”.
