This is a big deal for country music, Luke Combs and for the songwriters who write with Luke.
Sony Music Nashville surprised the two time CMA Entertainer of the Year Luke Combs with five new plaques commemorating some new historic certifications at Luke’s 5-year anniversary appearance at the Grand Ole Opry Tuesday night (August 13th).
The plaques included two diamond certifications for “When It Rains It Pours” & “Hurricane” making Luke the first artist to have three Diamond country singles certified by the RIAA. These two songs join “Beautiful Crazy” which was Diamond certified last year.
Additionally, Luke’s 2022 album Gettin’ Old is certified Platinum while his 2019 What You See Is What You Get is certified 5X Platinum. To cap off the night, Luke’s Grammy nominated version of Tracy Chapman’s hit “Fast Car” was also certified 5X platinum.
As Luke sang, “When It Rains It Pours”, and in this case it rained a lot of good news.
