“Who Will Win” vs. “Who Should Win”…Plus Some Other CMA Extras

The 58th annual CMA Awards are on tonight at 8:00 p.m. Eastern on ABC. Here are some expert predictions from “American Songwriter”.

For Entertainer of the Year, they said Jelly Roll will win, but Morgan Wallen should win it instead to be honest. For Album of the Year, they said Chris Stapleton will win, but Jelly should win instead.

Then for Single of the Year, they said “I Had Some Help”, by Post Malone and Morgan, will take down the prize. But they think that “A Bar Song (Tipsy)”, by Shaboozey, should win instead. I’m putting my money on Post and Morgan. It’s was the song of the summer dammit.

As for the Song of the Year…that has to go to Cody Johnson’s “Dirt Cheap”…because that song represents country music perfectly. Hopefully the CMAs don’t mess this up.

You can feel free to check out more of their predictions, here.

Here are a few extras to get you prepped for tonight’s big show:

1. Luke Bryan said he’d like to see the CMA Awards categories get updated.

2. Cody Johnson was asked if there are any dreams he hasn’t accomplished yet, and he said, “Yeah. I want to win Entertainer of the Year.”

3. Zach Top will be taking his new girlfriend Amelia to the CMAs. He said, “they’ll look at her, and listen to me. Hopefully.” Sorry ladies…he does in fact have someone.

Now I’m wondering when they’re going to include Riley Green in the solo nominations to be recognized for being one the best country artist on the planet…and they need to add Midland back into the Vocal Group of the Year category while I’m thinking about it.

Lastly…if Zach Top doesn’t win the New Artist of The Year category…the CMAs can kiss my ass.
