Casey Donahew is currently out on his “Still Chasing A Dream Tour” and I got a chance to see it Colorado Springs at Phil Long Music Hall.
I need to also confess while we’re here. I’ve never once been sad at a Casey Donahew concert. Not once. So, don’t be afraid to spend your money on a ticket to see one of his shows. It’s worth every damn penny.
Casey started writing songs in high school and after high school he started playing in the Fort Worth Stockyards professionally around 2002. If you’ve never listened to Casey’s music, start with his first album “Lost Days” and keep going til you get done with his last album “Never Not Love You”. His catalog doesn’t miss.
Don’t ask me to pick a favorite song of Casey’s neither, because it’s kind of hard to do. “What Cowboys Do”, “Drove Me To The Whiskey”, “Bad Guy”, “He Ain’t a Cowboy”, “Stockyards”, “Built Different” and “Double Wide Dream” to name a few are all country music twangers.
Just do your part…and “Make America Country Again” by listening to more country music from artists not being played on your local country radio station. Stream them y’all. I mean that’s where they’ll easily found.
