The Red Clay Strays Survived A Nightmare Flight on Their Way to a Utah Festival

The Red Clay Strays had a flight they’ll never forget…and not in a good way.

The band was on their way to the Redwest 2025 festival in Utah, when their private jet hit some severe turbulence.

Video shared by the group shows the band members gripping their seats as the plane rocked violently midair. It looked awful.

Their bassist, Andrew Bishop, tried to lighten the mood by playing Lynyrd Skynyrd on his phone. He said, “if it’s gonna go down, it’s gonna go down to Lynyrd Skynyrd.”

Despite the chaos, they landed safely in Salt Lake City. When asked how bad it was, one of the pilots said, “No, it doesn’t get much worse. I mean, you die. That’s about as bad as it gets right there.”

The lead singer, Brandon Coleman, summed it up well when he said, “I threw up really bad.”

As for future travel, maybe the Red Clay Strays should think about using buses for a while.
