Luke Combs Officially Landed His 20th #1 Song With “Back in the Saddle”, In Only Eleven Years of Having A Career

It only took 11 years for this man to get twenty #1 songs attached to his name, which ain’t a bad thing at all.

Luke Combs released his first EP, “The Way She Rides”, in February of 2014. Later that year, he decided to release his second EP, “Can I Get an Outlaw”. That’s also when started to hear of Luke, thanks to Ryan Upchurch pushing that song out to his massive fan base. Let’s be real. Ryan helped put Luke on the map.

In November of 2015 he released his third EP, “This One’s for You”. Then in late 2016, he was named one of Sounds Like Nashville’s “Artists to Watch”. People were definitely watching and listening by that time too.

In 2016, his first single, “Hurricane”, sold 15,000 copies in its first week, and debuted at number 46 on Hot Country Songs. That obviously caught the attention of everyone in country music. He then signed a deal with Sony Music Nashville, and the debut single from “This One’s for You”, “Hurricane”, was officially re-released on Columbia Nashville.

“Hurricane” obviously reached number one on the country radio airplay chart on May 15, 2017, holding that spot for two weeks. And, now we’re at song number twenty of Luke’s that’s officially reached #1 spot as of this week (10/26/25) on the country charts with “Back in the Saddle”.

Twenty #1 songs in 11 years, as well as being the highest-selling country artist of all time, is a hell of an accomplishment. Well done, Luke.
