Dolly Parton’s Next Business Idea…Is Building Truck Stops

Dolly Parton never stops making new business ideas come to life.

I mean if you have the money and a name like Dolly…almost any idea can become a reality. She’s about to open the SongTeller Hotel in Nashville. And guess what’s next on her list of business ideas? It’s truck stops y’all.

That’s right, next summer she’s opening Dolly’s Tennessean Travel Stop in Cornersville, Tennessee. It’s part of a brand-new partnership where her team will take over and rebrand the Tennessean Travel Stop location.

Here’s what Dolly said, “I have spent the bulk of my life on the road, and more specifically on a bus. All the years spent visiting greasy spoon cafes, truck stops, and roadside pit stops have given me an understanding of what travelers desire on the road.”

They’re promising modern amenities and curated dining. Whatever that means at a truck stop. Are they trying to compete with Buc-ee’s, because that’s high bar to compete with? I feel like Dolly can pull it off though.

Even at her age, Dolly just keeps going strong. She still wakes up at 3:00 a.m. every day. She says, quote, “I don’t want to miss nothing.” It’s how icons operate.
