I need to stay off social media, because this pisses me off.
Milo’s Tea Company is ending operations at its Homewood, Alabama facility effective as of today, January 5th. I mean if you wanted decent sweet tea already made, this is tea to buy.
The company did say that more than half of its affected employees have been relocated to its Bessemer facility, according to ABC News. So, that’s definitely some good news.
“Milo’s Tea Company has made the difficult decision to permanently end regular operations at our Homewood facility, effective January 5th. More than half of the affected positions have been relocated to our facility in Bessemer with the same job title and same pay. For the 38 associates we are unable to relocate in the Birmingham area; we have offered four months of severance and benefit continuation, as well as the opportunity to apply for open positions at our other sites and career planning support such as resume writing, interview preparation, and connections to staffing firms.
By redirecting needed equipment investments to our other sites with more modern infrastructure, we can accelerate growth, continue delivering on our promise of serving high-quality beverages made with real ingredients to our fans, and create more jobs, faster.”
