The 2026 Grammy Awards are happing on Sunday, February 1st on CBS.
Now country music still has their own respectful categories and that’s apparently all they have. Even though guys like Morgan Wallen and Luke Combs broke some big records in the music industry. And they have numbers from the data to prove it.
Morgan’s album, “I’m The Problem”, had massive success in 2025…but for some reason country music was literally shut out of the major categories at the Grammys.
Country is completely absent from Best Album…Best Song…Best Record…and the Best New Artist category.
The Recording Academy CEO, Harvey Mason Jr., said it’s always “heartbreaking” when deserving artists are left out, but the Grammys reflect how voters vote each year.
He says the focus is on having balanced voting across genres (that’s clearly not happening)…and not controlling the outcome. When he was asked if the decision was political, he said, quote, “it really is not that.” I’m personally calling bullshit on that.
