Kid Rock closed out Turning Point USA’s “All-American Halftime Show” with a cover of Cody Johnson’s chart-topping massive hit song, “‘Til’ You Can’t”, featuring a new faith-based verse he wrote.
Kid Rock first performed the cover at the Hondo Rodeo Fest last fall, adding a new, personal verse dedicated to the late TPUSA founder Charlie Kirk. The new lyrics focus on faith and redemption, with lines about dusting off a Bible and giving your life to Jesus.
Kid said, “You know, I awoke on a Sunday morning, all alone, stuck in my head. And in that moment, something or someone spoke to me. They said there was still a verse that still needed to be written for this song, and to get up and write it down.”
That new verse hits home for a lot of Christians too…
“There’s a book that’s sitting in your house somewhere that could use some dusting off…There’s a man that died for all our sins hanging from the cross…You can give your life to Jesus and he’ll give you a second chance…‘Til you can’t, ’til you can’t.”
I know some people are calling the alternative halftime show hateful and divisive…but everything I watched was not that. The “All-American Halftime Show” took me to church and I’m good with that.
By Monday afternoon, Kid Rock’s version of “‘Til You Can’t“, which was released at midnight on Monday (2/9/26), and less than 24 hours after he performed it at Turning Point USA’s “All-American Halftime Show”…sat at #1 on the all-genre iTunes chart. Definitely not bad for a song talking about Jesus.
