The Super Bowl halftime show is one of the biggest stages in all of music, and country has barely been invited.
The last time country artists appeared in the halftime show was back in 1994, when Clint Black, Tanya Tucker, Travis Tritt, Wynonna Judd, and Naomi Judd shared the stage. It was absolutely glorious too.
“Taste of Country” put out a list of 15 country artists that could play a Super Bowl halftime show. Here are the four that have the best shot according to the numbers they keep putting up in the streaming and touring world. They’re basically household names.
You’ve got Morgan Wallen…Luke Combs…Lainey Wilson…and King George Strait. Four more to add to that list would easily be, Kenny Chesney, Blake Shelton, Carrie Underwood and Luke Bryan.
You can check out the rest of Taste of Country’s list here. We just need one of them picked. The NFL needs to make this happen.
