Only 32 Country Songs Have Hit #1 On The Billboard Hot 100 Chart

There have only been 32 country songs in Billboard history that have been able to hit #1 on the all-genre Hot 100 chart. Now quite a bit of these songs fall into the “pretend country music category” for me…but that just me.

The first to ever do it was Johnny Horton’s “The Battle of New Orleans” in 1959. Which is a damn fine country song too. I know this cause my mom introduced me to that class song as a kid.

Here are the 20 most recent:

1. “I Knew It, I Knew You”Taylor Swift

2. “Choosin’ Texas”Ella Langley

3. “What I Want”Morgan Wallen featuring Tate McRae

4. “Love Somebody”Morgan Wallen

5. “A Bar Song (Tipsy)”, Shaboozey

6. “I Had Some Help”, Post Malone featuring Morgan Wallen

7. “Texas Hold ‘Em”Beyoncé (this song needs to quit showing up on country music lists of any kind…because it ain’t country)

8. “I Remember Everything”, Zach Bryan featuring Kacey Musgraves

9. “Rich Men North of Richmond”, Oliver Anthony

10. “Try That in a Small Town”Jason Aldean

11. “Last Night”, Morgan Wallen

12. “All Too Well (Taylor’s Version)”Taylor Swift

13. “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together”, Taylor Swift

14. “Amazed”, Lonestar

15. “Islands in the Stream”Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton
